As I tend to at this time of year, I've been taking some time over the holidays to look back at my listening during 2014. Unlike previous years, I haven't just picked out 15 records that have caught my ear as I've found myself delving into a lot of back-catalogue recordings this year too. To that end, the list below also includes artists where I've been picking and choosing from lots of their albums. There's no particular order to the list and year of release etc doesn't matter for the purposes of this exercise.

1. The latest set of remasters by Led Zeppelin

2. The Mono Recordings by Miles Davis

3. Phosphorescent Harvest by Chris Robinson Brotherhood

4. Lots of different tracks on which Slash plays the guitar

5. Environment Five by The Future Sound of London (and various other records from their 'Environments' and 'Archives' series)

6. Going Back Home by Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey

7. Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar by Robert Plant (and various bits of his solo back-catalogue)

8. Rave Tapes by Mogwai (and lots of their back-catalogue)

9. Syro by Aphex Twin (and, again, lots of his older stuff)

10. Tied to a  Star by J Mascis

11. History of the Future by The Orb

12. Dummy by Portishead

13. Live in Paris by Fripp and Eno

14. Lots of things by John Coltrane including Offering: Live at Temple University

15. CSNY '74 by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

Happy holidays everyone.
