I cast my vote yesterday evening and played my small part in our big decision. I suspect that this was the most significant ballot I'll see in my lifetime. It feels appropriate to mark that.
Scotland voted 'no'. But things seem set to change.
The First Minister has called on Westminster politicians to honour their promises and increase the powers devolved to the Scottish Parliament. The Prime Minister has said that he intends to honour those promises. There are calls in the rest of the UK for greater regional autonomy. There might, finally, be a substantive answer to the West Lothian question.
We will not be the first generation in 300 years to see an independent Scotland. Despite that, we are going to be the beta testers for a new constitutional settlement. Together.
